Artist's Statement 2020
I am both a sculptor and a painter, working in my studio on Exmoor, West Somerset.
My work is informed by balancing outer turmoil with inner calm.
The sculptures are all on fine balancing points and are honed to fine edges reflecting human vulnerability. In all the work I am much concerned with areas of space which intend to give rest and calm to the eye.
My work is in private collections in the UK, Europe and the USA, including the collections of Frances Carnwath, ex-Director of the Tate Gallery and Robert Hiscox, owner of the Hiscox collection.
I am represented by The Court Gallery, West Quantoxhead, West Somerset; Richeldis Fine Art, London and Hidden Gallery, Bristol.
I have exhibited in London and the provinces including an invited show at the New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham with Sandra Blow RA, the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, and Solo Show at Hidden Gallery, Clifton, Bristol.
I am proud to be a member of Group 93 who are all committed artists, having graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1993.
